The organization that represents hotel and restaurant members across the TCI will be appealing to restaurants to participate in the promotional week to offer specially selected three-course lunch and dinner prix fixe menus to their patrons. The menus which will be cheaper than the usual à la carte prices will include a special lunch menu for $25 per person and dinner for $50 per person (tax and service charge not included).
The aim of the promotional week is to encourage residents and visitors to experience the varied dining and cuisine showcased in some of the island’s finest restaurants. Restaurateurs will be encouraged to participate and become part of the promotions that will run a couple weeks up to the date.
The plan is for Restaurant Week to become an annual calendar event that residents, visitors and restaurant owners alike will anticipate and look forward to each year. Karen Whitt, President of the TCHTA is excited with the potential the event has, ‘We envisage that Restaurant Week will attract a great deal of attention. The idea is to present an opportunity, to turn first time diners into regulars and encourage repeat business among residents. Everybody enjoys eating out but perhaps sometimes stick to their tried and trusted favourites. The event aims to encourage patrons to try something new, tempt them to widen their palate while making the offering an attractive option”.
Already the TCHTA has received a tremendous response from restaurateurs in Providenciales and many participants are anticipated to register over the coming weeks. The first eateries to confirm their involvement in Restaurant Week include: Alexandra Resort, Amanyara Resort, Atlantic Bar & Grill (West Bay Club), Bagatelle Bistro (Gansevoort Turks & Caicos), Grace’s Cottage (Point Grace), Hemingway’s on the Beach (The Sands), Parallel 23 Restaurant and the Plunge at the Regent Palms, O’Soleil Restaurant (The Somerset Resort) and The Terrace Grille (Seven Stars).
Participating restaurants and menus are featured on the TCHTA Restaurant Week website. For more information visit http://turksandcaicoshta.com/go/en/restaurantweek.html or call the TCHTA at 649-941-5787.
