The TCHTA is made up of hoteliers and business managers who volunteer their time to meet the demands of the TCHTA's membership and to meet the needs of the TCI's growing industry.

Butch Clare
Butch Clare: Resident Manager, The Royal West Indies

A native of South Caicos, Butch has a rich and varied background of experience that enables him to bring a unique and valuable perspective to the organization.

Butch started his career as an air traffic controller in the early 1970s and held a wide variety of positions related to tourism since then. From 2003 to 2005 he was the chairman of the Turks & Caicos Tourist Board. He also held positions at Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, with a training and development organization focused on tourism and as a manager at Beaches Resort. Following his experience at Beaches, he became the resident manager at the Royal West Indies.

Butch says he is excited to serve the country and the tourism sector as the Chairman of the TCHTA. “As an active member of the tourism industry, I’ve watched the TCHTA grow into an influential body that has a big impact on a country whose economy is based on tourism. I believe I can use my experience with both large and small properties to help guide the organization to the next phase of its development.”

Diderick van Regemorter
Diderick van Regemorter: General Manager, The Regent Palms

Diderik van Regemorter has anchored himself as the General Manager of The Regent Palms. With superb managerial talent and a keen sense of hospitality excellence, Regemorter is responsible for all operations at the 164-room property as well as assuring The Regent Experience™ of immersion in local culture, attention to detail, anticipatory service and luxury for all the senses.

Regemorter’s 30-year journey to The Regent Palms took in 5-Star resort resorts as well as 6-Star cruise ships. Before venturing into the cruise industry, Regemorter got his start at the Eurotel-Hyatt in Montreux, Switzerland in 1977. In 1979 he became Food Production Manager for Marriott Hotels and Resorts in the city center of Amsterdam, and went on to work as Director of Restaurants to Director of Food & Beverage at addresses including St. Louis, Chicago, El Paso, and Portland, Oregon over nine years. Regemorter’s career at Marriott culminated with a six-year turn as Director of Food & Beverage at Marco Island Resort and Golf Club, a 5-Star/5-Diamond beachfront property where he produced the highest F&B profit margin of all Marriott Hotels for several years running and scored the Meetings and Conventions’ Gold Plate Award for his efforts. Regemorter got his start at the Eurotel-Hyatt in Montreux, Switzerland in 1977.

Regemorter has long placed priorities on service, sound business judgment and guest satisfaction. His dedication to The Regent Experience became clear during his first days with The Regent Palms, when he increased the resort’s staff by 20%. “We took a great resort guest experience and made it even better,” he recalls. He has also completely overhauled the property from organizational, technical, maintenance and cleanliness perspectives while rebuilding the entire senior management team to provide cohesive leadership. Regemorter is a graduate of Centre International De Glion, Switzerland and versatile in five languages, including French, English, Spanish, Dutch and German. Belgian by birth, Regemorter currently resides in Turks and Caicos.

Nikheel Advani
Nikheel Advani: General Manager, Grace Bay Club

Nikheel’s energy, entrepreneurial spirit and extensive background in the hospitality industry made him the perfect choice to help lead the Grace Bay Club as it evolves from a 21-room small luxury hotel to a full-service resort with 59 villas and suites complete with all the amenities one would expect of a property that has been named to Condé Nast Traveler’s “Gold List” since 1995. He brings first-hand hotel management and food & beverage expertise to the resort from his extensive background in the hospitality industry where he’s worked in more than 10 cities in three continents.

Nikheel was most recently Hotel Manager at Raffles Hotel in Singapore, where his role included overseeing the food and beverage operations for all Raffles properties in Asia. Prior to joining Raffles in 2002, Nikheel commanded the food & beverage world with Ritz-Carlton for seven years. Rising through the ranks, Nikheel first began his career at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Millenia Singapore as a banquet operations manager.

Born in Nigeria, raised in Singapore and educated in the United States, Nikheel brings a rich cultural background and work experience to his role as a board member of the TCHTA.

Eugene Burns
Eugene Burns: General Manager, Comfort Suites

Eugene Terrance Burns is a native of the Bahamas. Since April, 2003, he has resided in Providenciales with his wife, a Belonger of South Caicos, and daughter.

With over thirty years of hospitality experience, he has worked in hotels and resorts in Nassau and Freeport, Grand Bahama in the Bahamas. He is currently the General Manager of Comfort Suites Turks and Caicos, located in Grace Bay, and previously, Treasure Beach Resort and Villas in Providenciales.

Before taking up residence in Providenciales, he served as General Manager of Wyndham Ambassador Beach Resort in Cable Beach, Nassau, and before that, General Manager of the Xanadu Beach Resort and Marina in Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bahamas. In his climb to the top, he has held positions as Director of Food and Beverage, Resident Manager, and Executive Asst. General Manager in notable hotels in the Bahamas.

Mr. Burns possesses a B.A. Degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management, along with countless diplomas and certification in all areas of hotel management. He has worked and received on-the-job-training at Holiday Inn International, Sonesta Hotels, and Wyndham Hotels in the United States at various times of his career.

Stacy Cox
Stacy Cox: General Manager, Royal West Indies Resort

Like many local Turks and Caicos Islanders, Stacy Cox, Resort Manager at Royal West Indies, was lured into the tourism and hospitality industry at a young age.

Born in the Bahamas, Stacy started her career there and became a rising star, winning the Supervisor of the Year award at the Bahamas Cacique Awards in 1996. These prestigious awards celebrate outstanding contributions to the country's tourism industry.

Stacy joined the staff of the Royal West Indies Resort in February of 2003 as operations manager and quickly worked her way up the ladder. Her latest promotion to Resort Manger is a result of her skill, talents and dedication to her team.

Alvin Maier: General Manager, PAC

Alvin Maier brings 29 years of experience in aviation operations and marketing to the Turks and Caiocs Islands. Serving as the general manger for PAC, Maier is responsible for terminal operations at the international airport in Providenciales.

Before moving to our islands, Maier was the managing director for North Peace Airport Services, Ltd., a subsidiary of Vancaouver Airport Services, where he managed airport operations for Fort St. John, British Columbia in Canada. He started his career with Canadian Airlines International where spent 22 years working in Airport operations at Winnipeg, Manitoba; Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta; and Whitehorse, Yukon.

Beverly Williams
Beverly Williams: General Manager, Le Vele Resort

Beverly, born and raised in Providenciales has been working in upscale properties in Providenciales for over 5 years. In 2005, Beverly’s achievement was recognized when she gained the Turks and Caicos Islands National Tourism Achievement Osprey Award for making a difference. She has since been elected onto the TCHTA Board.

Although the first part of her tourism career was climbing the ladder at Point Grace, Beverly now manages 8 staff at the 22 suite Le Vele Resort and says that the part she most enjoys about her position is the “personalized service and meeting so many people”.

Beverly is a member of the American Hotels and Lodging Association, American Management Association and the National Association of Female Executives.

Caesar Campbell
Caesar Campbell: TCHTA Chief Executive Officer

Former Turks and Caicos Tourism Board Director and now tourism consultant, and owner and managing director of the Olympia Destination Management Company (ODMC), Caesar uses his vast experience in tourism in the region to benefit the membership in his role as Association Chief Executive for the TCHTA.

Caesar has been involved with the Association since 1994 and has overseen much of the progress as the Association has increased its membership and services to the tourism industry.
